About the Author

A writer shaped by observation, discipline, and the natural world.

Ron Everhart's creative life began with a childhood fascination for nature. By high school he was already devoted to herpetology, and during military service he bought a camera to document friends and everyday life abroad, discovering that nature study and photography belonged together.

He later studied at the New York Institute of Photography and worked as a naturalist, photographer, staff writer, and freelancer, including work connected to Eagle Creek Park, Acres Land Trust, Water Gardening Magazine, and books on Indiana's plants and animals. In Florida, while photographing endangered pelicans and nesting herons and egrets, he wrote his first novel in his spare time.

Everhart writes across genres and has authored multiple novels, bringing a naturalist's eye for detail and a storyteller's instinct for pressure, danger, loyalty, and consequence.
