Keeping the Tradition of Sacred Music Alive

The Sacred Music Institute of the Southwest is dedicated to advancing and preserving the beauty of liturgical and sacred music for Ecumencial Christian worship across all denominations.

As a non-profit, we rely on the support of those who believe in the importance of this tradition. Together, we can ensure sacred music continues, to inspire generations to come.

Our Founder’s Message

Many supporters know Dr. Rick Lopez as the former conductor of the Archdiocesan Choir of Galveston-Houston. Over the years, individuals supported the choir’s concerts and programs. Now, through SMISW, Dr. Lopez and the Coro Gloria Dei Choir are continuing that tradition by expanding sacred music outreach as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Your support helps offset the costs of upcoming sacred music programs and performances and allows this mission to grow.
